I haven't posted since October. I would say nothing much has happened, but heck, I've made it through the holidays and it's a NEW YEAR...so that's something. I've been reading a lot, much to my husband's chagrin. A group of girlfriends and I have been passing around the Shannon McKenna books. She writes a great mystery with LOTS of sex. This lady is creative. All the female characters are soft, beautiful, virginal, and kick ass and all the men are well endowed kung fu fighter sex machines. What's not to like? I've also been reading Sandra Brown novels, as well as my high school friend Alissa Johnson's historical romances. I didn't know I liked historical romances until I read Ali's. They are really very good and very enjoyable.
We've also been renting lots of movies. I liked Funny People, although it's a bit darker than I expected and there's about 15-30 minutes in the middle when Judd Apatow's real life family shows up that I could live without. I slept through Year One and Marty assured me I didn't miss anything. I slept through the first 30 minutes of The Taking of Pelham 123, but I liked the rest of it. Marty wasn't very satisfied. He didn't feel like there was a real hero in that movie. I started watching 500 Days of Summer last night and like it so far. That Joseph Gordon-Levitt sure is cute. Ooh, I rented Nothing Like the Holidays right around Christmas. It's about a Puerto Rican family in Chicago, so I thought there might be lots of jokes or inuendo I didn't understand, but I thought it was great! One of my favorite holiday films in a long time. Really great cast, great story. Skip Carriers unless you just want to be depressed and sort of pissed about the whole story line. I'll Never Be Your Woman with Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd was really cute. I also just saw Girls Just Want to Have Fun for the first time. It was so cute!
Boring, I know, but that's all I can think of for now. And that's after 2 months!!! Holy crap my life is boring. The kids are great!
Hope you are great, as well!
