Plastic Bag Wreath Tutorial

I have tons of plastic bags from my local grocery store and I'm sick of them.  I started trying to think of a craft project.  I decided to try to make a wreath.  I've made two wreaths.  Both are super easy.

For the first one I used a foam wreath form:

I didn't cut the bags at all, just tied them around the wreath form.

Once the bags were all around the wreath, I spray painted it using a spray paint for plastic.

When it dried, I tied a Welcome sign to it and voila!

It looks pretty good, but the next one is my favorite.

This time, I used a wire hanger.  I kept the hook intact and pulled the hanger into a circle shape.  No tools or anything.

This time, I cut the bottom off of each bag, cut the handles, and then cut each bag into 8 pieces.  This was not a careful process.  I did not try very hard to make sure each piece was exactly equal.

Then I started tying each piece around the hanger.

The hook is there to hang the wreath up

This time, I didn't have any plastic spray paint, so I just used what I had on hand.  It took longer to dry, but it still dried pretty fast.  I left it outside for an hour maybe.  It looks so good!  I'll put a big gold bow around it and I'll be ready for St Patrick's Day!
